'Equine Back Problems' describes potential causes of spinal injuries. It shows how and why, even minor spinal ailments, can affect a horse's form in the competition arena.

'Equine Back Problems' show David Watson M.R.C.V.S., an expert in equine skeletons and movement,  treating three horses with different back complaints. David explains how the equine back is constructed and the important relationship between the spine and supporting muscles.

This film asks: What are the common symptoms when there is a problem and how it may have occurred in the first place? 'Equine Back Problems' explains how different spinal injuries occur for each discipline and  shows how particular movements can cause problems in dressage, show jumping, eventing, racing and polo.

Finally the film shows three different horses with back injuries, a diagnosis for each horse, and realigning the spine into the correct position and thus allowing the muscles surrounding the back to work normally once again.

David Watson B.A. (Cantab) M.R.C.V.S. has huge experience as an equine vet and has specialised in equine skeletons and movement for many years within his own veterinary practice. In this film, his explanations are easy to follow and provide a real insight into the skeletal and muscular construction of the spine together with diagnosis and correction of the three horses he treats.

Robert Simpson BSc and Peter Damerell BSc who have both recently qualified with honours degrees from Liverpool University provide further valuable information which makes this film very easy to watch and learn from,

The film has been designed to help anyone with horses, whether professional riders or owners, and particularly for students in higher education studying equestrian or veterinary courses.
